Institute of Information Security


IISEC was established in 2004 as a graduate school specializing in information security, and ever since then, it is devoted to advanced education and research under the slogan, “systemizing a new study field and fostering specialists.” The curriculum is structured in cryptography, network system, system technology, operation, law and ethics to be competitive in the world.

IISEC is closely collaborating with a number of business corporations, and it has started an information security specialist certification program for the “Integrated Special Scheme for Information Security Specialist cultivation” project sponsored by the Education Ministry. IISEC regularly hosts information security workshops open to the public to work together with society, and will develop these activities more in future.

By March 2019, 396 students have received a master’s degree and 36 have been granted a Ph.D. in informatics from IISEC. These graduates have begun functioning as strong networks of information security, and they an active part in the information security fields in Japan.
